Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant of Phoenixville plans to pack your planner with beer-infused events through the month of July. Here’s what they have on the docket:
- Tomorrow night, July 1 is a “First Friday” celebration along Bridge Street, and Brewer Tim Stumpf has a special firkin of cask-conditioned Porter, dry hopped with American “Centennial” hops. Also for the night, the much-awaited “Hoppopotamus” will be on tap, with a tap time of 5pm.
- The following weekend (July 8 – 10) is Blob Fest in Phoenixville! For all the out-of-towners: This is a celebration of the cult classic movie “The Blob” that was filmed in 1958 about an alien blob that terrorizes the town of Phoenixville. Every year, the Colonial Theatre hosts a weekend-long party in honor of this film, and Iron Hill will have two special beers to enjoy with the festivities. Brewer Tim and assistant brewer Matt Gundrum have infused their Belgian Tripel with Cinnamon and Michigan Cherries, and the Cinnamon Blob and the Cherry Blob will be on tap Saturday, July 9th at 11am, and should be on tap through the weekend. Check out the Colonial theater’s website for all of the info by clicking here.
- Later in the month, on Thursday, July 21st, the brewers are set to have a special release of their Autumn beers! They’ve brewed Pumpkin Ale and Oktoberfest early this year, and they will be tapping both beers on this night. Also this night, Cole Campbell will be playing live in their cocktail section.
Also, be on the lookout for even more new batches of specialty beer: They’ve released Rauchbier and Belgian IPA, with batches of Chocolate Stout and Abbey Dubbel to be released mid-month, and Schwarzbier towards the end of the month.
