On April 12, Main Street in Manayunk will become the ultimate foodie’s dream come true! Beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting until 5 p.m., some of Philadelphia’s best food trucks will be lining Main Street.
Manayunk.com’s Spring StrEAT Food Festival will be the kick-off for Manayunk Restaurant Week which begins on Sunday, April 13 and runs until Friday, April 25. Restaurant Week will highlight some of Manayunk’s finest eateries with special three-course meals offered at $15, $25 and $35.
From Green Lane to Shurs Lane, Main Street will be lined with food trucks who offer fare ranging from desserts to international cuisines. Guests will have the opportunity to choose from plenty of options that will satisfy cravings at an affordable price.
In addition, all participants will be highlighting the secret spring ingredient—strawberries! Vendors will be preparing fun food items that incorporate strawberries like strawberry tarts, dipping sauces, and much more!
After three successful festivals, Manayunk is excited to celebrate its 4th. “I love the Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival!” states Jane Lipton, Executive Director of the Manayunk Development Corporation. “As one of Philadelphia’s first outdoor festivals of the season, it’s the perfect opportunity for those who’ve had cabin fever all winter to come out to Manayunk!”
Many of Manayunk’s restaurants and retailers will also be incorporating the strawberry-themed specialty into their business. “We love challenging our restaurants and retailers to include strawberries into their menus and store displays,” Lipton explains. “This element is something that makes our event unique and exciting compared to other food festivals.”
In addition to the food trucks, guests will also have the have the opportunity to browse amongst many gourmet food vendors and farm stands which will be set up in a parking lot along Main Street. They will have the chance to shop for homemade items like honeys, oils, spices, breads, and more made by local vendors. Farm stands will also be selling locally grown produce.
A charming and unique neighborhood in Philadelphia, Manayunk is the perfect place to enjoy a day packed with everyone’s favorite pastimes: eating and shopping!
