The Chester County Food Bank accomplishes many wonderful goals for the benefit of those who need help the most. But all of it couldn’t be accomplished without the many volunteers who donate their time and efforts to this organization.
The numbers are in for fiscal year 2014, and it’s amazing to see all of the great work that was accomplished: 360,894 pounds of nonperishable items donated and 229,275 pounds of produce received from the growing program, raised bed gardens and home growers. That’s 590,169 pounds of food received from volunteer power alone! These figures are extremely impressive and just go to show how much volunteering matters.
Eager to lend a hand in 2015? You can support the Chester County Food Bank by working on a farm, helping in the warehouse and more. Discover volunteering opportunities on the food bank’s website and sign up for available positions today.
