Children’s Grove Enhancements
The Children’s Grove is a shaded clearing full of adventure and exploration—perfect for the youngest visitors to Treehouse World. Current activities in the Children’s Grove include hedge row tunnels, log hopper area, Tic Tac Toe and musical chimes. When visitors return to Treehouse World, they will find a full Treetop Jungle Village.
Have you ever imagined yourself in a fantasy world filled with wonder, magic and tree-dwelling people? How about picturing yourself fighting the Empire alongside hoards of furry little creatures? With the new series of bridges and platforms in the grove, you will be able to take your place in massive battles, putting the strategic height advantage to good use. Chase your friends, play hide and seek and even Walk The Plank—a unique experience for the bravest of heroes and heroines. Areas of the grove will be opening in stages. Look for the first opening in late 2016 or early 2017 to include a series of five platforms, six bridges and a brand new Pirate Ship.
The Pirate Ship
The Pirate Ship is over 20 feet long and placed high up in the trees. On the main deck are two planks where instructors will clip kids’ climbing harnesses into a device that allows for a “free fall” experience and then gently lowers them to the ground. Rising up from the Pirate Ship is a Crow’s Nest platform with a walk the plank feature that is 35 feet high—talk about scary fun! Look for this attraction to open as soon as all approvals from the authorities are received to ensure a safe and fun adventure.
Low Ropes Challenge Course
The Low Ropes Challenge Course is currently being planned for construction in the near future. The planned course includes a tire walk, balance beams, logs, tunnels, a low bridge, mohawk walk, grapevine traverse, postman’s traverse, Burma loop and activities such as Maui to Kauai, whale watch, all aboard and the cube. Stay tuned for more details about this exciting planned element to Treehouse World as they become available.
Chickens and a Bunny!
Treehouse World now has a chicken coop, and you just might see the chickens wandering around the property. They also have a brand new employee—Hoppy the Bunny. Hoppy accepts tips in the form of nutritious treats such as raw vegetables, watermelon rinds, carrot and beet tops and apple and pepper cores. Weeds like dandelions, clover, grasses and wildflowers may bring you some extra special attention from Hoppy. Her office is located near the chicken coop in an elevated treehouse-like bunny cage. Next time you visit Treehouse World be sure to stop by and say hello.
Valley Creek Aerial Adventure Course
Ever since Treehouse World opened, the question on everyone’s mind has been, “When will the zipline be open?” The answer is March 2017 (pending inspection and approval). Perhaps you’ve seen the construction as you drive by Treehouse World between the Boot Road and Frazer exits on 202 in West Chester?
Treehouse World is pleased that construction on the Valley Creek Aerial Adventure Course is now complete. The zipline tour includes eight bridges and three ziplines. No two crossings are the same. The difficulty runs from easy to moderate, with some light climbing and traversing. Sometimes, walking on wire and rope and crooked boards that wobble a bit can mess with your sense of normal. However, you don’t need to be a gymnast to get through the course. The tree platforms vary in size from 25 to 350 square feet and are set in trees up to 50 feet above ground. The ziplines range from 100 to 430 feet long, with variable speeds. The last zipline goes over the pond.
