In February 2016, it was announced that Victory Brewing Company and Southern Tier Brewing Company would join forces to form Artisanal Brewing Ventures (ABV). Now, they are taking their collaboration one step further and opening an innovation brewery and taproom in the lovely locale of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The expansion will feature new beers Victory and Southern Tier brewers jointly created and will be offered in Charlotte and the Carolinas, with hope that the collaborative brews will be released nationally. The Charlotte location will also offer flagship beers from both Victory and Southern Tier.
The two companies decided to branch out to Charlotte with the future introduction of the brewery and taproom because many of the breweries’ fans from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio have relocated to the Charlotte area, thereby increasing the interest of having these brews readily accessible in that location.
The brewery will consist of a 28,000 square-foot facility, with both Victory and Southern Tier having the capacity to produce approximately 10,000 barrels annually. In addition to an indoor tasting room, the new location will also offer private event spaces (both indoor and outdoor) and a beer garden.
The new spot in Charlotte will also host corporate offices for ABV and act as a hub for the collaborative brewery group.
