The Fridge in Lancaster is celebrating six beautiful years in the beer (and food) business and throwing a party for all of you in honor of the milestone! The Annual Customer Appreciation Day is going down on Saturday, September 9, starting at 11 a.m. And yes, there will be a line before the door opens.
James Futty, one of the co-owners of this beloved Lancaster establishment, says this about his customers: “We are humbled by the support the Lancaster community has shown us. It still blows me away how much people love The Fridge. I always knew we were going to be successful, but I couldn’t have predicted the strong sense of community that would be built around The Fridge. It’s humbling and mind-blowing all at the same time.”
To say thanks to its amazing customers, here’s the plan: this year, The Fridge’s 10 taps will be filled with limited release, hard-to-find—we’re talking not even available in the Lancaster area—beers. Confirmed beers include Dogfish Head’s Vanilla World Wide Stout, as well as “a beer from a local brewery it has never had on tap before, and a beer no one has ever had before and will never have again.”
A keg from Rotunda Brewing Company will be on tap and served to guests on a “donation” basis. Donations collected from the Rotunda beer will be given to a to-be-decided charity. These details will be released closer to the event date.
The third keg is definitely something to get excited about! The Fridge’s friends at South County Brewing Co. have volunteered to create a Fridge Double IPA exclusively for the party. South County’s brewer, Mike Smeltzer, has created a nice combo of wheat, oats and lactose, with Equinox, Simcoe and Galaxy hops. There’s also a late addition of Columbus hops to look forward to. This will be the only keg of Fridge Double IPA out in the world. Talk about small-batch brews!
The first couple hundred guests through the door will grab a commemorative beer glass, and everyone will enjoy a free cupcake from Lancaster Cupcake. Just like in previous years, there will be door prizes like brewery shirts, bike jerseys, Fridge swag and more.
Pair your celebratory beers with a couple of tacos, a gourmet hot dog or, of course, a slice or two of pizza and make a day of it! Stay tuned to The Fridge’s Facebook page for updates the event date draws nearer!
