Don’t Miss This: Ethiopian Day Festival in West Philly (Sept. 30)

Ethiopian Day Festival

The annual Ethiopian Day Festival, hosted by the Ethiopian Community Association of Greater Philadelphia, will be bringing the crowds together at 4400 Chestnut Street on Saturday, September 30, to embrace the Ethiopian culture!

The festival will take place from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. and feature various aspects of Ethiopia’s rich traditions, including live music, dance performances and a keynote speaker, Pietro Toggia, Ph.D. The day will be filled with plenty of authentic Ethiopian fare, games for the kids, a surprise artist and unique vendors to make the day complete.

Wubshet Ayele, one of the event organizers say, “The event is a celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Ethiopian community association of greater Philadelphia (ECAGP). The city of Philadelphia has dedicated September 27 as Ethiopian Day. We use this festival to celebrate and introduce the rich culture and tradition of Ethiopia to the city of Philadelphia and also to the next generation of Ethiopians that are born here.”
