Looks like Lancaster is soon to be home to another big grocery store! In addition to a new Whole Foods Market, Wegmans will open its Lancaster location on Sunday, September 23, at 7 a.m. at The Crossings at Conestoga Creek, a development on Harrisburg Pike across from Long’s Park.
Wegmans’ Lancaster store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will employ 475 people. Hiring of its 175 full-time workers is mostly complete, but the store is continuing to hire its 300 part-time employees. The store will carry 60,000 items, including more than 4,000 organic items. It will also have a casual-dining restaurant, The Burger Bar.
