Open up one too many bottles of red at a dinner party? This red wine hot chocolate — your childhood favorite, all grown up — is one of our favorite ways to use up the dregs of the bottles before it goes bad. Half-and-half lends a luxurious texture, while semi-sweet chocolate keeps the sugar in check.
Pennsylvania is establishing itself as a legitimate wine-growing region, there are so many vineyards here that are making great wines which should be added to your wine shelf, cellar and/or fridge ASAP! This recipe works best with a dry red; we suggest The Red Standard from Chaddsford Winery, Rowen Asher Winery‘s Misty Love Cabernet or Starr Hill Winery‘s Cab Sauvignon.
