Iron Hill Brewery is continuing its epic expansion (recent additions to the locations list include Center City Philly and Hershey) with the goal of having 20 operating locations by the close of 2020. As part of that plan, the company recently announced that it will begin work on its first full-scale production brewery at The Shops on Eagleview Boulevard in Exton, PA. Doors are expected to open in Summer 2020.
This homegrown brewpub chain – the seventh largest brewpub group in the country – will call this new location the Iron Hill Brewery & Taphouse, and the large, new space will allow Iron Hill to increase its brewing capacity, and it will also serve as an innovation kitchen for future menu items.
Of course, there will be plenty of beer flowing; Iron Hill Brewery & Taphouse will pour signature and seasonal beers, as well as a location-specific menu. The Exton taphouse, clocking in at 18,000 square feet, will include a 10,000-sq.-ft. brewery, which will eventually be able to brew as much as 20,000 barrels, with initial capability to produce 6,000 BBLs annually, and eventually expand to 20,000 BBLs. The rest of the space is dedicated to the bar and dining room, which will have seating for 150 guests. The menu will be keeping with the fresh, elevated pub fare which fans know from Iron Hill’s other locations.
“Iron Hill Brewery & Taphouse is the next logical step in our expansion efforts to make sure we are staying true to our commitment of serving the freshest beer, maintaining our high standards and encouraging our brewers to experiment, all the while giving our customers even more reason to keep coming back to their favorite Iron Hill,” says Kim Boerema, CEO of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant. “We are very excited to enter into this new venture, and we look forward to continuing to serve our loyal fanbase in this new capacity.”
The taphouse design is headed up by Boulder, CO-based Bray Architecture and will join a number of businesses developed by Eli Kahn Development Corp. and J. Loew & Associates, both of Malvern, PA, at The Shops on Eagleview Boulevard. “We are absolutely delighted to have Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant anchor the redevelopment of the space at The Shops on Eagleview Boulevard,” says developer Eli Kahn. “This will help the transformation of this center into a premier destination for both dining and shopping in Chester County.”
