Picking season is in full swing, so drop by Linvilla Orchards for their annual Sweet Corn & Blackberry Festival on Sat., July 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Dress your little ones up in their best buccaneer or princess costumes, there’s a pirate theme at Linvilla on this day. There will be a scavenger treasure hunt, hear tales about the stormy seas, and participate in other lively activities. Makin’ Music will be on hand for entertainment and of course, there’s the playground, pony rides, and face painting too.
Stop by the Linvilla Grill for lunch and save room for corn and blackberry treats at the Farm Market; with chowder, muffins, and sweets, there’s something for everyone.
Then make your way to the orchard for sky high stalks and bushes brimming with berries; you’ll find everything you need for simple summer meals. Tons of tasty treats and loads of fun? Now that sounds like a recipe for success.
Chef Mitch Prensky of Supper Restaurant will also be performing a free cooking demonstration at noon during the festival. Come learn some new cooking secrets featuring sweet corn and blackberries from one of Philadelphia’s finest chefs.
Rain date for festival is Sunday, July 25.
