Some people stay out pretty late on New Year’s Eve and it can be hard to spring into action the next morning in order to attend the annual Mummers Day Parade in Philadelphia. For you, the Mummers Mardi Gras Parade in Manayunk will have to suffice. (Hint: It’s just as fun!)
On Saturday, February 20, the Philadelphia Mummers will make their way down Main Street in Manayunk for the biggest family-friendly Mardi Gras celebration in the city! Attendees will be treated to numerous performances from the most prominent Mummers string bands. This winter spectacular event will allow families to enjoy all the pageantry of the Mummers in the quaint neighborhood setting of Manayunk.
The daylong celebration will raise money for one of the greatest traditions in Philadelphia. The parade route will start at Shurs Lane at 11 a.m. and proceed down the length of Main Street. After the parade, stop in to one of the participating restaurants that will be serving as String Band Clubhouses for the afternoon.
