Yard House, which opened its first restaurant along the waterfront in Long Beach, Calif., in 1996, will officially open the doors of its 66th location on March 27. The craft beer-centric restaurant will feature 130 taps and is located at the King of Prussia Mall.
The beer list includes 120 unique, year-round brands and will feature 28 regional craft offerings from 17 different local brewers from the Philadelphia region. Favorite domestic and import beers and a handful of seasonal craft beer offerings from Pennsylvania, Delaware and Boston, will also be on the menu.
Five tap handles will be reserved for the restaurant’s Chalkboard Series, a selection of small, limited releases from craft brewers that rotate monthly.
“We take great pride in putting together the best craft beer offerings possible,” says Gregory Howard, director of beverage strategy for Yard House. “It’s a process, and no two locations are alike; each has its own distinct beer list driven by what guests are enjoying locally. Our most popular beers are our House Beers, which are brewed especially for Yard House by Uinta.”
The opening tap list will feature brews from local favorites 2SP, Conshohocken Brewing Company, Neshaminy Creek, Tröegs, Free Will, Dock Street, Sly Fox, Victory, Cape May, Naked Brewing, Liquid Hero, Yards, Philadelphia Brewing and Evil Genius.
The glass-enclosed keg room, one of Yard House’s signature architectural features, will contain 4,000 gallons of beer and is kept at a consistent chilled temperature. Kegs will be tagged, dated and assigned a tap handle. From there the beer is fed to the taps through five miles of individual beer lines encased in stainless steel to the center-island bar, where it is served by the pint, goblet or signature half-yard glass.
The menu of scratch-made items includes dishes like truffle fries, street tacos, pizzas, wings, sandwiches, salads and burgers.
