Old Eagle Tavern Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with 10 Days of Craft Cans

Old Eagle Tavern in Manayunk is celebrating its 10th anniversary in May! Since the traditional gift for this milestone is tin/aluminum, the tavern had a thought: Why not hold a craft can-fest? Join them for this fun 10-day-long celebration (May 1-10) with special, rare and limited can options all $1 off.

The highlight of the celebration will be held Sunday, May 5, from noon to 3 p.m. Chef Morgan Malachi will prepare a complimentary brunch buffet to thank Old Eagle Tavern patrons at this special Tenth Anniversary Party and Big Brew Day. The buffet will feature staples such as scrambled eggs, French toast, home fries, bacon, sausage, meatballs, baked ziti and mixed green and fruit salads. The YTM Home Brew Club will be on hand discussing how to make beer at home and all things craft beer. The draft list for the event is still in the works, but expect special, limited and rare beers that owner Erin Wallace has been saving for this special occasion.

The upswing of canned craft beer has afforded beer enthusiasts the pleasure of enjoying a variety of styles in cans, and Old Eagle Tavern’s can list will not disappoint, regardless of personal preference. There will be plenty of Belgian Styles, Golden Dubbels, Saisons, English Pale Ales, Stouts, IPAs, German Wheats, Kolschs and Bocks. Notable cans include St. Fueillien Saison, Brewer’s Art Ozzy, Brewer’s Art Resurrection, Sly Fox Odyssey Imperial IPA and the new 360º Topless Helles Lager can, Uncommon Bacon Brown Ale in 16 oz. can for the adventurous and Joseph James Fox Tail Pale Ale for gluten-free beer lovers.
