Today’s the day—Victory Brewing Company will be breaking ground on its new brewpub in Kennett Square, Victory at Magnolia, at 3 p.m.! The 8,234-square-foot space, which will include a 250-seat restaurant and outdoor dining, is set to open in the second quarter of 2014. Is everybody else as excited as we are? For more details on plans for this new location, check out our article from earlier this year.
Meanwhile in Parkesburg, at Victory’s soon-to-be-operational second brewing facility (read more about that here), all utilities are running and the mill is now fully commissioned. Each of the grain silos, which are now ready to receive container shipments, are capable of storing four times the amount of grain that is stored in Victory’s other silos, in Downingtown. Last weekend, Victory was able to run its first water brew; using 3.5 tons of grain and 150 kilos of hops, the brewhouse was tested with good result. Earlier this week, Victory brewmeisters executed the next phase of their commissioning schedule and brewed two beers to completion, testing the yeast system and fermentation. Assuming progress continues at its current pace, and systems continue to function as expected, it looks as if Victory’s bottling line will be moved to Parkesburg in mid-December. All in favor of more Victory brews—say aye!
And, as if that’s not enough, Victory has just announced its newest winter seasonal, Hop Ranch Imperial India Pale Ale. Juicy, citrusy and sharp, with an edge of bitterness, this third new release for the brewery this year, a 9% ABV brew that salutes American hop ranchers, will be available in four-packs and on draft from December 2013 to February 2014.
