Do you love Downingtown? With so many fantastic restaurants, attractions and businesses, of course you do!
Downingtown Main Street Association (DMSA) wants to let you show your affection with their inaugural campaign of civic pride, “I Love D’TOWN.” Recognizing the positive feelings that many have for this historic Chester County borough, the business and civic leaders that comprise the Board of Directors of DMSA have elected the Valentine’s Day holiday to stage a public display of affection for Downingtown.
This display will take the form of traditional candy heart shaped notes, each sponsored by local businesses, expressing their love of the town and its citizens. The intended effect of this project is to confirm and inspire the latent affection that Downingtown residents and visitors have for this unique place on the Brandywine Creek. The display will be hosted by Dane Décor, who has generously offered their massive front windows facing Lancaster Avenue as the setting for this display.
Each sponsored message will generate funding for the ongoing projects and mission of DMSA, and the messages are expected to remain on display from approximately February 11–23. Each heart costs just $20 and can be purchased by contacting Steven J. Plaugher, Executive Director/Main Street Manager at (484) 593-0935 or via email.
