Paris Bistro & Jazz Café opened up in January and has brought a 30s-style French flare to Germantown Avenue. Chef Al Paris and restaurateurs Robert and Benjamin Bynum have created a space and a menu that reflects the City of Light in the former Melting Pot space in the Chestnut Hill Hotel.
Over on Main Line Today, Amy Strauss says, “Paris is recreating recipes from 20 years ago—a supple duck confit, comforting mustard-cream sauce, strings of broad made-from-scratch noodles, heaping plates of côte de bœuf and beef bourguignon, airy baguettes.”
She continues, “Paris Bistro’s decadent dishes are refined yet approachable, and the well-curated wine-and-spirits program matches the caliber of the food. Expect genuine service and generous portions.”
Paris Bistro has enlisted the help of sommelier Wendy Wolf to curate a list of high-quality bottles mixed with more unusual choices. There is a also a menu of six cocktails, like the Rosemary Old-Fashioned, that focus on herbs and fresh aromas.
Don’t forget to take a stroll down to the Jazz Café on the lower level and experience a speakeasy-like vibe.
