They say that variety is the spice of life. Victory Brewing Company adheres to this old adage. The brewery is unveiling its newest project, one that will add a whole new dimension to the ever-popular IPA style of beer. It’s called Moving Parts, and we have to be honest, we’re quite impressed with this “outside of the box” thinking.
Here’s how it’s going to work. The brewmasters over at Victory will be working with the basics of the IPA: hops, malt and yeast. With each new batch that’s brewed, they’ll be tweaking these components just so to create a new variety of IPA, thus creating a “fluid, ever-evolving, moving work of wonderfully drinkable art in a bottle.” Translation: an endless array of assorted IPAs.
President and Head Brewmaster at Victory Bill Covaleski provided some insight into this new project. “Just as a single bold stroke or change of rhythm can take art in an exciting new direction, subtle recipe shifts in a craft beer can produce profound flavor changes. Some may feel such complexities are problematic to approach. We disagree. We have a penchant for prolific experimentation and Moving Parts embodies that creative spirit with gusto, resulting in a new end result every four months.”
The first batch of Moving Parts will highlight American, English and Czech hops varieties with a hint of German malts to provide a slightly sweet and slightly bold yet balanced flavor. These brews will be available in 22 oz. bottles and will be available in local craft beer bars, beer distributors, Wegman’s and Whole Foods Markets locally.
