The Chester County Food Bank recently announced the launch of its new Fresh2You Mobile Market. This concept-turned-reality will bring fresh produce, healthy food staples and educational resources directly to communities in need on a weekly basis. Fresh2You will make its public debut on Friday, June 12, at 11 a.m. at the Food Bank. This partnership between the Food Bank and the United Way of Chester County hopes to encourage corporations and community groups to begin collecting these high-demand pantry staples and get involved.
First up on the mobile market’s tour are Coatesville and Honey Brook. In the hopes of encouraging folks to experience and purchase fresh, local produce, the truck will accept all forms of payment, including debit cards, cash, SNAP/EBT (food stamp) cards and WIC vouchers. High on the priority list is sourcing local produce and farm-produced food whenever possible, even tapping into their own Chester County Food Bank Agriculture Program, which will help strengthen the local economy.
