Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer, has passed, so now it’s time to think about having some outdoor fun. If you enjoy dining outside, tipping back fun cocktails and grooving to local music, then The Desmond’s Sunset Grille terrace is the place to gather. The Music
Listening to live music is a great way to relax and enjoy an evening under the stars. The Desmond has all of your local favorites ready to entertain you from 6–9 p.m. each Wednesday through Friday night. The schedule is packed with a variety of local musicians, including Hake and Jarema, Mike Caroto Band, Ben Singleton, Chameleon, Butchy Sochorow, Jarrett Muzi, Chris Grunwald—and special guests!—with a diverse mix of reggae, blues, rock, top hits, Motown, country and more.
The Food
The Sunset Grille features award-winning cuisine prepared by the fantastic chefs at The Desmond. This isn’t your usual burger and fries joint. Refreshing menu items like chilled gazpacho with orange, cucumber, sweet beets and jumbo lump crab ($10); Maine lobster burger BLT with lemon aioli, applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce and avocado ($18); and grilled rockfish fillet with marinated vegetable salsa and truffle-yogurt sauce ($26) bring a taste of the beach to Malvern.
Of course, there is plenty for carnivorous diners to feast on, too—smoked and pulled pork sandwich with golden BBQ sauce ($14) and grilled Angus hanger steak with sautéed shallots and piquillo pepper-tarragon sauce ($26) are just two of the options.
The Sunset Grille also features some sweet specials. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, enjoy a fresh-cooked 1¼-pound whole Maine lobster for just $24. On Thursdays and Fridays, dig into a half rack of hickory-smoked St. Louis ribs with traditional BBQ sauce paired with a hickory-smoked pulled pork sandwich with golden BBQ sauce, also just $24!
The Sunset Grille is open for lunch Monday through Friday and is a great spot for a casual business meeting or the perfect place to catch up with friends for happy hour.
The Drinks
The Sunset Grille at The Desmond has all of your favorite craft beers and wine selections, but we couldn’t forget to mention the inventive Prohibition-era cocktails, fruity sangrias and tropical-style selections to quench your thirst on hot summer nights. This year, The Desmond is also featuring an all-new tasting series, Sips and Small Bites, every other Thursday (excluding July 14). For just $20, guests can get six samples of the featured drinks paired with the perfect food accompaniment from Executive Chef Chris Calhoun. The line-up includes:

- June 16: Neshaminy Creek Beer Selections and a Modern Take on Sangrias
- June 30: Not Your Typical Cabernet & Chardonnay and Prohibition Era Vintage Cocktails

- August 25: Aussie & New Zealand Wine Offerings and Cosmo Variations
