Thanksgiving: a day we gather around the table to express our gratitude and enjoy the sweet and savory comforts of a family meal. Founded in 1983, Carlino’s instills the values of food and family into every handmade dish. Luckily for the greater Philadelphia community, Carlino’s can set your table with all the quintessential Thanksgiving fixings, leaving you time to enjoy the important part—being with your loved ones.
So what’s on the menu?
Sublime Starters
Try the Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, a creamy blend of squash, potatoes, celery, carrots, onions, shallots and vegetable stock. Better yet, it’s gluten free.
The Cream of Mushroom Soup is crafted from scratch with local Kennett Square mushrooms, shallots, potatoes, olive oil, garlic and cream.
For the traditional at heart, Carlino’s Holiday Soup is a classic “wedding” soup featuring a happy marriage of escarole, chicken, pastine, chicken stock and baby meatballs.
Is there anything more festive than Holiday Brie? Pick up a classic Brie en Croute—or add toppings such as pumpkin pecan, dried figs and walnuts or cranberry orange— and bake it at home for an ooey-gooey appetizer your family will love.
Let’s Talk Turkey
On to the main event: the bird. Carlino’s sources its cage-free, antibiotic-free turkeys from a local, family-owned farm in Lancaster County. Turkeys are fresh, never frozen, and each is tenderly roasted in a blend of Carlino’s Signature herbs and seasoning.
There’s a turkey style for any palate—a classic whole roasted bird, a boneless turkey breast stuffed with Carlino’s cranberry focaccia bread filling, even an apple and rice stuffed chicken breast and a turducken roast—all served with gravy.
On the Side
What’s turkey without its partner in crime, stuffing? At Carlino’s, it’s hard to beat the Traditional Italian Herb Stuffing made with focaccia bread, chicken stock, celery, carrots and homemade Italian sausage.
For a zesty, modern twist, try the Quinoa Stuffing with apples, sweet potato, cranberries, walnuts, maple syrup, lemon, cinnamon, thyme and ginger.
As an alternative to stuffing, in true Italian form, Carlino’s offers a selection of homemade pasta, including pumpkin ravioli in butternut squash sauce and sweet potato gnocchi in brandy and walnut sauce.
Round out the plate with cream corn, garlic and shallot mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes or roasted brussels sprouts.
Sweet Finishes
Save room for dessert—Carlino’s old-fashioned handmade pies are too good to miss. From pumpkin with maple whipped cream to lattice apple and chocolate bourbon pecan pie, there’s something to satisfy any sweet tooth.
