Black Powder Tavern has some big news—the restaurant is rolling out a brand new drink menu!
Black Powder Tavern’s bar had previously focused on American brands to reflect the Tavern’s rich history that dates back to the Revolutionary War. With an eye on taking Black Powder’s bar program into the 21st century, while remaining true to its roots, the Tavern has expanded the drinks menu to include more diverse brands and edgier cocktails.
Phil Cugliotta, general manager of Black Powder Tavern, shares, “We consulted with one of our top liquor reps to develop the new cocktail list. He knows what all the hottest bars in New York are serving and we can’t wait to bring that same vibe to Wayne!”
Highlights from the cocktail menu include:
- The Horsecar—Knob Creek Straight Rye Whiskey, Sweet & Dry Vermouth, orange bitters
- Make My Mule—Choice of EFFEN Dutch Raspberry, Black Cherry, Blood Orange, Green Apple or Unflavored Vodka with ginger beer and lime
- Penicillin—Teacher’s Highland Scotch, Laphroaig 10-Year Scotch, honey-ginger syrup
- Black Derby—Jim Beam Black Extra-Aged Bourbon, honey syrup, grapefruit
Bar patrons who want to try several spirits now have flight options—¾-oz. pours of three or four spirits. We highly recommend the Top Shelf, which includes pours of Clase Azul Reposado, Stoli Elite, Highland Park 15 Year and Whistle Pig Old World.
The wine list has also gotten an upgrade with 40+ white, red and sparkling wines available by the glass and bottle.
Of course, Black Powder Tavern has always had a stellar craft beer list and it has only gotten better. Besides the rotating draft list, Black Powder is now serving large format bottles of multiple Brewery Ommegang beers. Look for Upside Brown, 2015 Belgian Independence Day, 2011 and 2013 3 Philosophers, Game of Thrones Iron Throne, Gnomegeddon Blonde and more. Other bottle choices include several beers from Lagunitas, New Belgium and Chimay.
