Our favorite suburban pop-up destination beer garden is making a welcome return appearance in Kennett Square, and we couldn’t be more excited. Opening on Friday, May 26, at 4.pm., The Creamery is hard at work with preparations to make this year’s popular hangout bigger and better than last year’s wildly successful run.
Sandra Mulry, project leader for the Creamery, says, “We are thrilled to come back this season to continue what we started—to reclaim, repurpose and reimagine the old Creamery into a new space that fosters community, history and art. We look forward to sharing the space with old friends and new visitors, and we’re excited to show off our new children’s garden!”
Thousands of patrons attended last year’s garden to imbibe in craft beer, signature cocktails and rotating food trucks along with acoustically sound live music. Kids got in on the act too, as areas were set up for crafts, chalk art, games and enough open space to let the youngsters run off a little steam.
What else is in store for 2017?
- This year the gardens and landscaping will be refreshed with some new and inspiring designs. New to the site will also be a children’s garden with fountains, garden tunnels and other fun kid-sized activities for families to enjoy!
- In addition to fun rotating food trucks, a Creamery BBQ-focused food truck will provide mouth-watering grub to satiate any crew, and our friends at Punk’d Pineapple will make a return appearance doling out the sweet stuff. The wine and charcuterie bar will be up and running again, too, with a customized menu.
- Also new this year—the installation of fresh art. Specifically, local artist Robert “Bob” Jackson will be painting a mural on one of the walls of the Creamery every Thursday evening in June from 5-7 p.m. Sip on a brew, grab some ribs and enjoy watching vibrant paint colors go up right before your eyes.
- Live music is always in the house. The Essentials are slated for opening night—with Marlboro Road, Blue Cat Blues, Tino & Ashley, Josh & the Sons of Thunder and more for the season.
