Fans of Mr. Bill’s Fresh Seafood will be thrilled to know that The Fat Crab Cafe opened in late July. Situated right on Harrisburg Pike, The Fat Crab Cafe is an extension of the wildly popular seafood store.
While the menu is starting out small (with plans to add more dishes down the road), the current selection is still mighty impressive. With house specialties like The Crabman (crab and cheese fries with Mr. Bill’s pure spice, the house specialty cheese blend and roasted garlic aioli) and traditional plates like the market crab cake and soft shell crab sandwich with greens, tomato and red onion, crustacean fanatics will not be disappointed. Not craving crab? Indulge in the glorious New England-style lobster roll or dive into The Clucker, a grilled or blackened chicken sandwich with citrus herb spread, greens, tomato and red onion (both served on brioche bread with your choice of chips or a pickle). Sides include red bliss potato salad, seaside fries, sweet Maui kettle chips and fresh fruit salad. The cafe boasts room for about 55 guests, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating.
After your meal, don’t forget to swing by Mr. Bill’s Fresh Seafood store, where you can find a selection of fresh fish (both farm raised and wild caught) guaranteed to satisfy any seafood enthusiast. Take home blue crabs (live or steamed), shrimp, lobster, scallops, oysters, mussels and clams, as well as party trays, oven-ready appetizers, salads and smoked seafood. Don’t forget the trimmings! Mr. Bill’s also sells crab sauce, white and red clam sauce, Cajun seasoning and dill and scampi butter. Not sure what you what to do with all these delicacies? Check out Mr. Bill’s website for recipes, including imperial crab, bluefish alfredo and monkfish marinara. You can also order online.
The Fat Crab Cafe is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. To learn more, visit the cafe website or Mr. Bill’s Fresh Seafood Facebook page.
