Media’s getting a new resident soon—TAP 24, a gastropub with 24 rotating craft beers, creative cocktails, pub fare and more. The eatery is taking over the space formerly occupied by Picasso right on West State Street. Loic Barnieu, former owner of Picasso, will be heading up TAP 24.

Barnieu says his new endeavor will feature craft beers “ranging in style from the very popular IPAs to sour and barrel-aged beer,” with an emphasis on local brews. As for the food, no official menu has been determined yet, but Barnieu says to look for a “traditional pub menu like wings, burgers, etc., and our signature dish will be a rosemary-brined fried chicken.”
While the restaurant is still undergoing renovations, including the addition of brick walls and a new hardwood floor, Barnieu plans to have an 18-seat bar with 4 large TVs. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon pub lunch with friends watching the game, or an after-work drink in a cozy setting.
There’s no opening date as of yet, but we eagerly anticipate the arrival of Media’s newest hangout spot. Keep checking TAP 24’s Facebook page for more information and updates. Welcome to the neighborhood, TAP 24!
TAP 24 will be located at 36 W. State St. in Media.
