Known for its fresh, dried and frozen pasta, Vera Pasta is currently working on opening its very first casual, fresh pasta restaurant in the Historic Bourse Building in Philadelphia. This soon-to-be-named restaurant is slated to open in the spring of 2018.
The concept of this new space has been a dream of owner Joe D’Andrea’s since his days of living in Italy. The restaurant will riff on authentic Italian street food, with a focus on fresh made-to-order. As an added bonus, Vera Pasta will be serving wine from different Italian regions and selling packaged fresh pasta for customers to cook at home.
Vera Pasta has been growing its business since 2011 by servicing restaurants, specialty food stores and farmers markets in the tri-state area and up the East Coast to New Hampshire. By opening the restaurant, Vera Pasta aims to bring authentic Italian food to Philly, while teaching customers how Italians eat every day. Joe and his team will, of course, be putting their own spin on the cuisine, while staying true to the simplicity and tradition of Italian cooking.
And as if you needed any other reasons to love Vera Pasta, it was voted “Best Pasta Maker” this year by Philadelphia Magazine!
This new venture will give Philly residents a brick-and-mortar location to enjoy Vera’s simple ingredients, handcrafted methods and unique flavors! Stay tuned for updates on this exciting new development from Vera Pasta.
