The next time you stop into Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant in downtown West Chester, prepare to be amazed by renovations that have taken place over the past 9 days. The look is lighter and brighter and allows for a better view of the brewery, more booths in the back of the restaurant and communal tables around the bar.
Most noticeably, the bar has been relocated to the side wall, enabling the addition of new communal tables in the cocktail area. Installation of glass panels along the wall provides an unobstructed view into the brewery. The service station that was formerly behind the bar has been taken out, as has the back bar, which has been replaced by more booths. The booths that were formerly behind the service station are no longer on a platform, enabling a front-to-back open view of the restaurant from the bar.
Kevin Finn, one of Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant’s three owners, told us, “When we designed the restaurants almost 20 years ago, more people wanted to sit in the dining room first; the bar area was overflow. This has changed over the years. Now, people are just as apt to sit in the casual bar area as in the dining room. Our first goal was to make the bar area open and more energetic. The second goal was the make the brewery more visible. The brewery is part of our name, after all, so we wanted to make it more visible, accessible and fun. The third goal was to create better seating. To that end, we’ve added more booths in the back dining area. It’s much more comfortable now.”
