It’s no secret that Pennsylvania’s craft beverage scene is positively booming. While brands in the Greater Philly and Pittsburgh areas tend to get a lot of love, we’ve got the word on something exciting brewing in a more unexpected locale: Central PA!
The Central Pennsylvania Tasting Trail is an incredible way to explore what’s happening in Centre County (where State College is located). To start tasting your way through these hidden gems, simply purchase a passport and bring it with you to all 12 Centre County craft beverage producers on the trail. The breweries, wineries and distilleries involved include:
- Barrel 21 Distillery & Dining, State College, PA
- Big Spring Spirits, Bellefonte, PA
- Elk Creek Café & Aleworks, Millheim, PA
- Good Intent Cider, Bellefonte, PA
- Happy Valley Brewing Company, State College, PA
- Happy Valley Vineyard & Winery, State College, PA
- Keewaydin Cider Mill, State College, PA
- Mount Nittany Vineyard & Winery, Centre Hall, PA
- Otto’s Pub & Brewery, State College, PA
- Robin Hood Brewing Co., Bellefonte, PA
- Seven Mountains Wine Cellars, Spring Mills, PA
- University Wine Company, State College, PA
Pick up the passport at any participating trail member’s location for $35. Then, when you present your passport at any stop on the trail, you’ll get it stamped and receive a free gift or free tasting! And, if you visit all twelve venues and get stamps at each within a year of buying your passport and submit the passport to the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors’ Bureau (800 East Park Ave., State College, PA 16801), you’ll get a special Central PA Tasting Trail sweatshirt. This hoodie cannot be bought anywhere! You can only earn it by showing your local love and hitting up every stop on the Central Pennsylvania Tasting Trail.
What are you waiting for? Whether you’re a State College local, love to visit for football games, or you’re just a PA beer lover who loves to explore all that the state has to offer, pick up your passport and hit the Central Pennsylvania Tasting Trail! Check out the trail’s website for more info.
