If you crave warm doughnuts but don’t always want to commit to a big sugary indulgence, then The Dapper Doughnut is for you. Customizable, freshly made mini-doughnuts are the name of the game at this new venture (opened January 27th) from wife-and-husband team Janet Malin and Josh Morey.
“We wanted to find something that we could do together as a couple,” says Janet. “And who doesn’t love piping hot mini-doughnuts?”
The aroma of these delectable bites wafts from the tiny pavilion strategically tucked between popular Legoland, 5 Wits (an escape room experience) and the gorgeous island carousel at the Plymouth Meeting Mall.
Janet and Josh are thrilled to bring The Dapper Doughnut franchise to the Philadelphia area. They say, “We’re also looking at expanding our catering for weddings, showers and parties, acquiring a food truck for on-the-road gigs, and scouting possible brick-and-mortar locations in King of Prussia.”
Now, about those doughnuts… The menu is as straightforward as the goods:
- Choose your quantity: 6 for $4.99, 12 for $7.99, up to 48 for $27.99.
- Choose your topping from 14 flavors, including basics like cinnamon and powdered sugar, to gourmet combos like s’mores, “Nutella Dream,” “Fluffernutter,” blueberry-lemon and peanut butter and jelly.
- Choose your drink: Coffee, soda, milk or a thick doughnut milkshake, complete with a doughnut adorning the straw.
Enjoy watching the sizzling “cake-like” pastries travel quickly through a 375-degree fryer to the decorating station loaded with sauces and toppings.
Packaged in light blue-green mini boxes, these treats are perfect to eat while you’re people watching. Or you can grab a dozen to go (although, we tried and we didn’t make it out of the mall before eating them all!). At 80 calories a pop (plus toppings), a mini-doughnut is a tasty way to indulge your sweet-tooth craving without the guilt!
Find The Dapper Doughnut at the Plymouth Meeting Mall at 500 W. Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting.
