Summer is prime time for food trucks — who wants to be cooped up inside when you can be enjoying delicious snacks in the sunshine? We can’t think of a better place to sample some of the region’s best food-truck offerings than at the Food Truck Frenzy, happening on Saturday, July 21, at Linvilla Orchards (rain date is Sunday, July 22)!
From 11 a.m.–5 p.m., check out the tasty bites from tons of trucks, including HEART Food Truck, Dos Gringos, The Plum Pit, The Cow and the Curd, Gotta Lotta Gelata, Big Bad Wolf BBQ, The Tot Cart, Roasty Toasty, Dr. Wutzit’s Wonder Balls and Deerhead Hot Dogs. The event is free, and all food trucks are pay-as-you-go.
Enjoy a lovely Saturday at Linvilla, with live music, hayrides, pony rides, face painting and pick-your-own fruits and veggies. Stop by The Barnyard Stop to visit Linvilla’s menagerie of animals like white-tailed deer, calves, goats, horses, ducks, birds, emus, peacocks and a pot-bellied pig. Treat the kiddos to a train ride on the Allan Herschell 1865 Steam Locomotive, then let them run wild on the fun wooden Playland Playground. Fishing enthusiasts will love angling for trout in Orchard Lake; fishing rods and bait are available, and fishing licenses are not required. Bring the whole family out for a day of food and festivities!
If you’re in the mood for an adult beverage, Harvest Ridge Winery, from Marydel, Delaware, will be providing refreshing wines and ciders. Don’t leave without ducking into the The Farm Market and Bakery for freshly baked pies, breads, desserts, and many seasonal specialties (the cider donuts are not to be missed!). For some gardening fun, peruse the plants, fruit trees, shrubs and more in Linvilla’s Garden Center.
