Exciting brewery news for Gettysburg! The team behind Tommy’s Pizza is working on a craft brewery, Fourscore Beer Co., set to open some time later this fall.
They’ve just closed on the space, which is just a block away from Tommy’s at the corner of South Washington and Getty Street in downtown Gettysburg. On staff as brewer is Ben Little, the former brewmaster at Manor Hill Brewing in Ellicott City, Maryland. He and his crew will be working with a 7-barrel Craftwerk Brewing system, made in the USA in Detroit. Co-owner Wade Leedy says that they’ll also have a few wooden foeders for mixed fermentation projects, and have a small canning line on-site.
When it comes to sourcing ingredients, the goal will be to stay local when possible, including hops from Sunny Brae Hops in Carlisle. “Adams County being in the fruit belt, fruit will probably be one of the [local] things that we use a lot,” Leedy says.
Stay tuned to PA Eats, as well as Fourscore Beer Co.’s Instagram for details, including an opening date!
Once open, Fourscore Beer Co. will be located at 603 S. Washington in Gettysburg.
