Coming Soon to Honey Brook: Suburban Brewing Co.

A new brewery is in the works for Honey Brook! Suburban Brewing Co. will bring craft beer, local snacks and nostalgic arcade games to the area, thanks to Chef/Owner Eric Yost of Suburban Restaurant & Beer Garden and his Brewer/Partner Corey Ross, owner of Fancy Camper Home Brew Supply.

Suburban Brewing Co. will entice the beer-loving crowd with 8–12 beers on rotation, utilizing a one-barrel, all-grain system. For guests who may not favor beer as their drink of choice, local Pennsylvania spirits and wine will also be served. In keeping with the Pennsylvania theme, Suburban will start off its culinary offerings by serving locally made Pennsylvania Dutch-inspired snacks, including beef jerky, potato chips and Bavarian pretzels.

A few months down the road, Suburban Brewing Co.’s concession trailer will roll out, too, just in time for spring. The food trailer will serve fare beyond bar snacks, including Suburban Restaurant and Beer Garden’s signature dishes, such as mac-and-cheese, homemade pastas and barbecue plates.

In between the sipping and snacking, Suburban Beer Co. guests will find entertainment options throughout the venue, such as vintage and new arcade games like Pac-Man, pinball, shuffle alley bowling, a pool table and other recreation items.

The building of the brewery was completed by Yost and a few helpers, who constructed the establishment from scratch. The bar was created using reclaimed and recycled materials, including 100-year-old barn wood. The vintage theme doesn’t stop there, as the bar siding contains rustic barn tin and interior walls are adorned with old shipping pallets. Guests will be able to enjoy their drinks at a number of tables, which are, in fact, recycled electrical spools.

“I went from chef, to contractor, to brewer. I wore many hats putting this project together,” explains Yost. “I have more respect than ever for builders,” he smiled.

Ross will oversee the brewing operations. Although the initial contact between Ross and Yost was intended to be a brewing coach situation, with Ross walking Yost through the brewing process, the two hit it off and decided to open the new brewery as a partnership.

The brewery is projected to open in mid-February and, once the taps are flowing, the hours of operation will be Tuesday through Friday, 4 p.m.–midnight; Saturday, noon–midnight; and Sunday, noon–10 p.m.

Suburban Beer Co. will be located at 2536 Conestoga Ave. in Honey Brook.
