In our new column, “Order Up,” we find the tastiest things to eat and drink in Greater Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania, and we pass the deliciousness on to you!
Is 2018 The Year of the Cauliflower? Trend reports and menus at restaurants, both casual and fancy, all point to yes! Point in case: the Kung Pao Cauliflower “Wings” at Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar.
This dish is featured on Harvest’s newly launched winter menu. This health-forward restaurant always finds tasty and creative ways to cook up our favorite dishes, while keeping most of them under 500 calories each. While there are lots of delicious new options on the seasonal menu (we’ve got our eye on the vegetable pho and the spicy shrimp bao buns), Executive Chef Josh Short says he is “most excited about” the Kung Pao Cauliflower ‘Wings.’ This dish includes ginger soy glaze, pickled carrots and jalapenos, Sriracha, toasted sesame seeds and scallions. “This is our newest and most cravable dish, for sure,” Short says of the vegan appetizer.
Dishes like this are the only way we can imagine getting through the winter: comforting, soul-warming, but not so indulgent that it’s going to blow our resolutions or undo all of the work we’ve been putting in at the gym. Plus, we love how Harvest is committed to farm-to-table sourcing, bringing in organic, local, sustainable and non-GMO produce, meat and dairy sourced from more than 75 local farms.
Next time you get a craving for wings (no judgement — it happens to us at least once a week!), try the sticky, sweet, spicy cauliflower version at Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar!
