Goose Island Beer Co. is bringing its beer offerings to the east coast when the Goose Island Philly Brewhouse opens up on Friday, March 2!
The new brewhouse will be located next to The Fillmore Philadelphia in the Fishtown neighborhood and will kick things off with its grand opening from 4 p.m.–midnight on Friday, 3/2. For Goose Island Beer Co., this is the first United States brewhouse outside of Chicago, and the new location promises to be a welcome addition to Philadelphia’s vibrant craft beer scene.
Philadelphians can expect new and exciting beers from the brewhouse, courtesy of brewmaster Tim Caron, formerly the head brewer at Tuckahoe Brewing Company. These will be beers made exclusively for beer fans in Philly, in addition to Goose Island’s classic styles, such as Goose IPA, 312 and Sofie. A total of 28 draft lines and 2 cask engines will provide plenty of beer options for guests to enjoy.
“I’ve been a longtime fan of Goose Island and couldn’t be more thrilled to join the team bringing Goose Island to Philadelphia,” states Caron. “I’m excited to start brewing and bring Philadelphians some great beer.”
Food offerings to accompany the brews will be created by Chef Brennan Miller, featuring elevated brewpub fare. The menu will offer snacks and shareables, as well as entrees. Some highlights include: deviled egg with pickled cherry bomb pepper snack; the Chicago Platter with knackwurst, liverwurst, grilled bacon, bread and butter pickles and barley malt crackers; portobello flatbread with garlic confit, caramelized onions and mozzarella; a pub burger on a brioche bun with bacon, smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion and herb mayo; chicken pot pie; and fish and chips.
“Philadelphians know food and beer,” says Miller. “I’m looking forward to introducing something new with our locally sourced and sustainable menu, and interesting pairings between our elevated pub menu and locally brewed Goose Island beers.”
The interior of the new brewhouse will offer guests plenty of space, with 5,200 square feet of guest area space within the 10,500-square foot building. A mixture of hi- and low-top tables, along with bar seating, provide many options for sipping the day away!
Hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m.–11 p.m., Friday, 4 p.m.–midnight, Saturday, 11 a.m.–midnight, and Sunday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m.
Stop in for the grand opening on March 2 and be one of the first guests to welcome Goose Island Brewhouse to the neighborhood!
