We know that Philadelphia is blessed with dozens of places to get an amazing brunch, ranging from fancy-pants hotel restaurants, to casual cafes, to loud dive bars with a talented kitchen crew. But still, it’s nice to get some validation once in awhile. OpenTable just released a list of its 100 Best Brunch Restaurants in America, and we were excited to see Philly with an extremely strong showing.
From this list of 100, restaurants in Philly and the surrounding ‘burbs nabbed 8 spots! Here’s who was recognized:
- Bud & Marilyn’s: Retro vibes in the Gayborhood. Menu highlights: killer cocktails, warm pecan cinnamon buns, and biscuits and gravy. 1234 Locust St., Philadelphia; (215) 546-2220
- The Dandelion: A cheeky slice of England in the heart of Center City. Menu highlights: poached eggs “with bubble and squeak,” Scotch pancakes and, of course, an excellent tea service. 124 S. 18th St., Philadelphia, (215) 558-2500
- Parc: Stephen Starr’s iconic elegant French brasserie right on Rittenhouse Square. Menu highlights: smoked salmon tartine, croque madame and plenty of bubbly cocktails. 227 S. 18th St., Philadelphia; (215) 545-2262
- Talula’s Garden: A verdant oasis in the city, serving farm-to-table fare. Menu highlights: house-made crepes, local mushroom and farm egg omelet, and fresh orange carrot juice. 210 W. Washington Sq., Philadelphia; (215) 592-7787
- Terrain Garden Cafe: A gorgeous greenhouse restaurant sits aside the hippest garden shop around. Menu highlights: blood orange toast, freekeh tabbouleh salad, and breakfast board. 914 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills; (610) 459-6030
- Warmdaddy’s: For those looking for live jazz and a soul-food buffet on a Sunday morning. Menu highlights: Cajun peel-and-eat shrimp, iron skillet fried chicken, and smokehouse BBQ beef brisket. 1400 S. Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia; (215) 462-2000
- White Dog Cafe in Wayne: The Main Line outpost of this University City mainstay offers farm-fresh food and cocktails. Menu highlights: “Baysil Bloody Mary,” Green Meadow double cheddar burger, and avocado BLT. 200 W. Lancaster Ave, Wayne; (610) 225-3700
