The 35th Annual Presidential Scholarship Community Gala, West Chester University (WCU) Foundation‘s primary annual fundraiser, will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, at the Hollinger Field House at WCU.
The theme of this year’s gala, Chester County’s premier black-tie event, is “Emerald Gardens: Growing a Sustainable Future.” The Hollinger Field House will be transformed into a European-inspired formal garden, and guests will enjoy fine dining by New Street Catering, entertainment by Legacy, and an upscale silent auction with items including trips, electronics, jewelry and more. Plus, the evening will begin with a special Champagne & Diamond Raffle for a one-of-a-kind diamond jewelry piece, which has been designed and donated by Kaplans Fine Jewelry.
WCU Foundation is delighted to welcome Sally and Robert Smith ’72 as the co-chairs of the 35th Annual Presidential Scholarship Community Gala. A 1972 WCU alumnus, Bob is a former member of the College of Business and Public Management advisory board, former member of the WCU Alumni Association Board of Directors and Retired Senior VP at Dassault Falcon. Recently, Bob and Sally established the Robert and Sally Smith Business Scholarship awarded to outstanding business majors at WCU.
The Presidential Scholarship is a renewable four-year award, and is one of WCU’s largest and most prestigious scholarships funded entirely by private donations. This year’s incoming class of academic scholars includes: Cameron Ducey, a nursing major from Eldersburg, Maryland; Madison James, a biology major from York, Pennsylvania; and Jennifer Knerr, a special education and early grades prep major from Slatedale, Pennsylvania.
Tickets for the Gala are $175 per person and various sponsorships are also available. All proceeds from this event support the Presidential Scholarship Fund. This year’s Diamond Sponsors are Aramark and MacElree Harvey, Ltd.
