Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, milk drives have been a way that the American Dairy Association North East and Harrisburg Dairies have helped families who are facing food insecurity. In this situation, every little bit counts, and so the Central PA Drive-Thru Milk Events are an important resource for our neighbors in need. There is another round scheduled from Tuesday, September 15 through Friday, September 18, 2020, thanks to government-funded grants provided through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program to food banks and community organizations.
Powered by volunteers, the upcoming Milk Drives throughout the Greater Harrisburg Region will help provide children and families with fresh milk. The American Dairy Association North East and Harrisburg Dairies are partnering with the following programs to distribute 4,234 gallons (!) of milk:
- Tuesday, September 15, 2020, 4:30–6 p.m.: Middletown Area School District (front of Middle School Building) at 215 Oberlin Rd., in Middletown, PA
- Wednesday, September 16, 2020 – Lower Dauphin- Falcon Packs: Hummelstown Fire Company 4 – 6:30 p.m.: Hummelstown Fire Co. at 249 E. Main St. in Hummelstown, PA
- Wednesday, September 16, 2020: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.: Cocoa Packs – Hershey Middle School at 500 Homestead Rd. in Hershey, PA
- Wednesday, September 16, 2020: noon–1:30 p.m.: Central Dauphin East High School at 626 Rutherford Rd. in Harrisburg, PA
- Thursday, September 17, 2020: 4–6 p.m: John Harris High School at 2501 Market St. in Harrisburg, PA
- Thursday, September 17, 2020: 4–6 p.m: Foose Elementary School at 1301 Sycamore St. in Harrisburg, PA
- Thursday, September 17, 2020: 4–6 p.m: Latino Hispanic American Community Center at 1319 Derry St. in Harrisburg, PA
- Friday, September 18, 2020: 10 a.m.–noon: Palmyra Area School District at Palmyra Area High School, 1125 Park Dr. in Palmyra, PA.
