We have an exciting new project to announce: the Hops for Hunger campaign! All throughout November, we’re partnering with Feeding PA and Breweries in PA and joining forces with local breweries across the state to raise money to address the growing need for hunger relief and nutrition education resources.
We are looking to partner with 50+ breweries to join us in the first annual Hops For Hunger! Participating breweries will be challenged to raise at least $1,000. How they choose to do that can happen however is best for them! Some ideas include:
- Donating a percentage of proceeds from a “Hops for Hunger” special.
- Hosting a special event and donating a percentage of proceeds.
- Encouraging patrons to round up and/or add donations to their bill.
- Designating a Hops for Hunger beer and donating a dollar for every pint sold.
- Coming up with an original idea.
There are lots of perks for breweries who join the campaign, such as mentions on PA Eats, Feeding PA and Breweries in PA’s social media platforms, as well as in press releases and e-blasts that will reach local media outlets. We’ll also provide a helpful activation kit that includes: sample social media posts, table tents and more! Of course, beer fans and brewery guests will also love to see their favorite brewery supporting those in the community who are struggling with hunger; it’s such a great opportunity to get involved with fighting food insecurity in our state, especially as we enter the high-need time of late fall/winter.
