We have big news over here at PA Eats: we have a new Editor-in-Chief, Leigh Green! We are thrilled to welcome Leigh and are looking forward to seeing how she progresses and evolves the content of our nonprofit publication. She is also enthused to join us, saying,
“I’m especially excited about PA Eats being mission-driven, and to see how that piece can blend with focusing on great Pennsylvania food. I can’t wait to learn more about the stories of the people who are coming up with innovative ways to tackle food insecurity.”
Here’s a bit more about our newest team member:
Leigh was born and raised in Glen Mills, PA, and has lived in West Chester since 2007 with her husband Ben, their children Lily and Wesley (ages 12 and 10) and their dog, John. She’s an outoors-y type who loves to hike and be in nature in her free time.
Her family often spends time in the Poconos, where Leigh recently discovered a new gem, Pocono Organics, which she calls a “next-level organic farm.” She loves stopping in there for a relaxing breakfast. Closer to home, Leigh enjoys sampling the finest cheesesteaks in the West Chester area, and is a big fan of the morning buns at La Baguette Magique and special-occasion meals at Spence Cafe (where, fun fact, she once worked as a server!).
Professionally, Leigh has been a writer for a long time. She started her career as a reading specialist in Downingtown, and turned to freelance writer once her daughter was born. Her experience has run the gamut from copywriting for the Shipley School and the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, to blogging about local happenings for AroundPhilly.com and The Town Dish, to custom resume creation for numerous clients. Leigh will also be managing PA Eats’ social media accounts, so look out for her creativity to expand beyond these pages and into our Instagram and Facebook pages.
Join us in welcoming this talented Pennsylvania-based writer to the helm of PA Eats!
